International Facilities
FTKMC has international facilities in Singapore, Dubai, and Mauritius. These are global platforms to disseminate the vast knowledge base, experience, and intellectual property (IP) generated by the Financial Technologies Group in the area of derivatives market, risk management, and application of technology in commodity and financial markets.
As the developed and developing countries graduate towards the matured financial markets, the role of derivatives market is attaining a substantial significance. Established hedge funds and recognized investment banks, mutual funds and pension funds, investors and banks, government and private enterprise officials are recognizing the importance of commodity and currency derivatives as lucrative investment asset classes. As the sector is opening and developing, it is attracting further participation from existing and new players. In this context, with a view to meet the ever-growing need and demand from the international markets, the company has established a Centre for Organized Markets in Mauritius in association with the University of Mauritius. The Centre caters to the training, consultancy, and research needs of the subcontinent in the area of Organized Markets. The Centre offers short-term and long-term programmes in the area of Financial and Commodity Markets. The Centre essentially targets, among others, the following groups:
- Risk managers
- Brokers and traders
- Hedgers and arbitragers
- Investors
- Government officials
- Statutory bodies
- Students and academicians
- Procurement managers of various commodities
- Warehousing officials
- Banks and financial institutions
- Entrepreneurs
- Trade associations
The Centre also offers consultancy related to market development and market risk and tailor-made solutions for corporate and institutional clients.
FTKMC has also associated with some of the leading training and educational institutions of international repute for activities such as research, training, consultancy, and publications. It has entered into a tie-up with Institute for Financial Markets, Washington, for offering a commodity related programme in India. It also completed a consultancy assignment for Burgan Bank, Kuwait, along with PwC (Kuwait) and a comprehensive one-month training programme for IFPRI to develop commodity markets in Ethiopia, which was sponsored by the World Bank. FTKMC has also tied up with Securities and Investment Institute (SII), London, to conduct certification programmes. It has been delivering programmes related to Commodity and Currency Derivatives in Dubai and Singapore.
All the offered programmes are internationally benchmarked and exclusively conducted by faculty who come with rich practical as well as training/consultancy experience in their respective domains. Since the offerings of FTKMC are in a niche area, very few institutions would have the kind of domain expertise and in-depth knowledge that it has cultivated.
